«Простір мами» — фотографічний проєкт Елени Субач, реалізований на запрошення Vogue Ukraine як лауреатки премії FUTURESPECTIVE 2025, що досліджує феномен материнства під час повномасштабної війни.

Натхненна іконописом та образами «райського саду» (hortus conclusus) італійського Відродження, переносячи його в сучасні декорації Києва та Львова, авторка створює інтимні портрети жінок, які виховують синів у часи війни та великих випробувань. У світі, де чоловіки бачать своїх дітей лише крізь екрани смартфонів, Субач фіксує інтимний простір материнської ніжності, гри та захисту.

Це візуальна розповідь про те, як любов і повсякденна турбота стають формою опору, створюючи затишний, майже сакральний світ посеред крихкої реальності.

“Mother’s Space” is a photographic project by Elena Subach, realized at the invitation of Vogue Ukraine as part of her recognition as a FUTURESPECTIVE 2025 award recipient. The project explores the phenomenon of motherhood during the full-scale war.

Drawing inspiration from icon painting and the imagery of the “enclosed garden” (hortus conclusus) of the Italian Renaissance, and transposing these references into the contemporary settings of Kyiv and Lviv, the artist creates intimate portraits of women raising sons in a time of war and profound trials. In a world where men often see their children only through smartphone screens, Subach captures an intimate space of maternal tenderness, play, and protection.

This visual narrative reflects how love and everyday care become forms of resistance, shaping a sheltered, almost sacred world within a fragile reality.
